“[The Spring Planning Retreat] is a wonderful opportunity that Replications offers us to network, review, plan, and analyze student work and data. It is a golden moment for us to come together as professionals. Without these retreats, I truly believe that we would not be able to perform and be as successful as we have been since joining Replications 3 years ago.”

-Dr. Ramon Namnun, Principal, High School of World Cultures, Bronx, New York

School Development

Replicating proven models and best practices to create excellent schools.

Over the last ten years, we have opened 29 public schools in New York City and Baltimore, creating strong school models for over 8,000 students.

We ensure that all Replications schools are built on five key elements:

  1. A positive school culture and high expectations
  2. A strong instructional program
  3. High quality leadership
  4. Well-prepared and energetic teachers
  5. Accountability

Together, these elements ensure a strong start for the school. Additionally, we provide assistance to new School Leaders in teacher recruitment, curriculum planning, budgeting and administration, school branding, and site readiness.

Essential Features

We also work with each School Leader to develop and define “Essential Features”– aspects of school culture, academic program, and methods of assessment that are critical to the school’s success and ultimately lead to student achievement. Our Essential Features Support includes an action plan that helps each school set achievable goals, measure progress, and sustain excellence.

Charter School Initiative

To date, our school development focused on district schools created in partnership with the local Department of Education. This year, we are pleased to propose our first charter school and work towards the development of a charter management organization, which will allow us to more effectively implement what we know works and is proven to have great impact on students’ lives. We believe this work will create a unique network of both district and charter schools that allows for mutual learning and sharing of best practices.
